Giving fascists “the benefit of the doubt” is how you end up living under fascism.

(Notice I said “living”. Funny how those who would be dead under it are never the ones doing this.)

@aral we’ve seen their trash before, we don’t need any more of it moving forward.
@aral This idea is close to that you need to be tolerant of the intolerant.
Yeah, no, just no.
Usually you find a lot of fascist behavior if you just look even a little, so in the end you don't need to give them any benefit of doubt.
@OBELIKS Yep, tolerating intolerance is how tolerance dies.

@aral saying that is the same that saying that what they say have some merit, and that a discussion is allowed. They don't. Fascists and fascism must be crushed as the disease they are.
@aral We have tested Fascism for you. We do not recommend using that concept. It destroys vital portions of your culture, cities, infrastructure, mental health of millions and causes at least 60 Mio deaths in your and neighbouring countries. I also asked.our neighbours. They also suggest not using Fascism. For more details ask: France, Luxemburg, Belgium, the Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Poland, Czechia, Slovakia, Ukraine, Greece and others.

This dude gave them more than the benefit of the doubt; they still sent him to a concentration camp.

@aral
Oh idk I've definitely seen it. Nobody thinks that *they're* the ones who will be targeted, but there you have it
@aral Indeed! I just wish that people would take the rising tide of fascism seriously. The US has already got several states run by proud authoritarians, and the country as a whole is heading toward full on fascism on a buttered slide! Part of the problem is that the organizations that the people trust to tell them what is happening refuse to call it fascism, and they refuse to call it out when it happens. They will hum a cheerful tune all the way to the gulag.

@aral true but there are those wayward souls who still think it will never happen to them... until it does...
