@cyclingzebras @chlssbn @LGsMom a car can absolutely be an accessibility device for many people, while for others a car may be inaccessible because of disability (I guess I’m kind of an example of that myself, I don’t drive because I have ADHD and anxiety and I’m really scared I’ll space out and cause an accident which is a reasonable fear, and also driving even a short distance drains all of my spoons for the day). While for people who have the choice I think we should replace cars with bikes and public transport as far as possible (and bigger or more wasteful/polluting cars with smaller or less wasteful/polluting cars where cars are needed, as much as possible), some people can’t make that change and they can’t be expected to. In many cases it’s an infrastructure problem that needs to be solved, but some people will always need cars and they should be able to use them.
