Twitter is now officially X on the App Store, with the tagline “Blaze your glory!” (cringe)

The version number has also been updated to 10.0. #itsnotxitsten

Also in this update: Tweet has been renamed to “Post.”

It’s truly the end of an era, folks. Putting aside the “poking fun at Elon Musk,” the word “Tweet” became so popular because it just made sense. That’s gone now — no more tweets. They’re posts. And that’s very, very sad. It’s a sad day for the internet. ;-;

@TodayInTwitter he’s an appallingly poor businessman who thinks he’s a genius businessman. About the only thing left of value there was the name - and that’s now gone. All we’re left with is an ‘everything’ app that’s currently just a generic ‘nothing’ app.
@TodayInTwitter Also, the charge indicator in that image is giving me anxiety 😂
@TodayInTwitter hm the app updated overnight, but I’m still seeing tweet. Not that I use it. No idea why that would be different.
@h5e @TodayInTwitter interestingly, the web front end also still says ‘Tweet’. At least on the iPad web page.
@GreyAreaUK @h5e Holy hahahaha they still haven't updated the web UI. What a useless engineering team.
@TodayInTwitter @GreyAreaUK Cut them some slack there’s probably only one engineer and they have to fix a 2fa microservice or something
@h5e A brand new update is *slowly* rolling out that removes all the “Tweet” references. Version 10.0. 9.6.8 still has “Tweet.”
@TodayInTwitter Yeah during the night I got 9.6.8 but the store has 10.0 ready for me to update to 😅
@TodayInTwitter Ah the app store has another update for me, I think I got the 2d ago one during the night (up until yesterday it was still twitter for me)
@TodayInTwitter guess how many people will still call it "tweets" until the servers go down 🤐
@TodayInTwitter @remixman The tweet is the post? How sad! On mastodon, please, please, please! Continue to call these messages, toots! And why have boosts been renamed to re-posts?
@TodayInTwitter It shows X on my phone as well.
@TodayInTwitter At least it’ll stop the endless jokes about turning X into a verb, even though this solution was pretty obvious.
@scottishwildcat It will never stop the endless jokes. The damage has already been done.
@TodayInTwitter What’s the odds tried to get the version number to be X.
@TodayInTwitter did he seriously put a 4/20 reference in the fucking tagline? This man is a literal child 🤦
@mrbellek Oh that’s a 4/20 reference? lol didn’t even know
@TodayInTwitter i might be wrong but "blazing it" is a weed reference
@TodayInTwitter It shows X on my phone as well.
