Do you know that I got permanently suspended from Twitter for joking about pretty much exactly that when corporate CEO's were holding back the American Rescue plan in order to make sure there was a non liability clause in the bill even if they forced ppl back to work in unsafe conditions and they got Covid? Every appeal, pre and post Musk, has returned to me with a resounding, "No." I was supposed to be "read mode" only, but with the rate limits I can barely do that.
yeah, i believe it.
even before Elno I had an account yeeted because I wrote that the Pope should "slap ped0 priests silly", and it was considered "a call for violence" 🙄
Jack is just Elno-lite.Twitter was always meant to be a disinformation platform to boost nazi-adjacent totalitarians, just like Facebook.
(also RIP my notifications for this reply but head cheese makes for good salads too
)

OMG, that is even more ridiculous. We can't even slap pedophiles?! (LOL, "Elno," I like that.) I kind of thought that Twitter was a CIA (or intel) cut out, but unfortunately, there are still ppl on there (scientists, mostly) that I like to read and I do use FB to keep in touch with friends. (Oh, just got a notification that Twitter reinstated Kanye West. Well, there you go...)
Nice to meet you and have free expression here.

And, thus, a similar comment like yours is what resulted in my permanent suspension from Twitter and loss of all 5 or so appeals (with no commentary other than the original, 'promoting violence"). Funny, huh?
It is so blatant that they work and exist for the establishment.
Thank you! Feels nice to find a home.

It's very striking how if someone threatens you with a knife, you can hurt them back or even kill them in self defence -- but if someone comes at you and threatens your life with policy, you have to suck it up and even protesting it is considered rude.
@Natsura @Rhodium103 @mattyroses
That had been my point exactly when I made my comment on the Twit. They were putting a non liability clause for corporations in the rescue plan, so that ppl would, potentially, be forced back to work in unsafe Covid conditions. I was pointing out the hypocrisy. And also, if allowing so many ppl to die of a disease was ok, then maybe they should reconsider history. More of a metaphor since Americans tend put up with this crap more than anyone should.
@mattyroses @Natsura @Rhodium103
For me it was both. First Jack, 2020, then Elno when I tried to appeal under "new criteria" (which turns out to be worse than before). I tried to explain it was a joke and I didn't expect ppl would begin running around with guillotines. The establishment is humorless (but also scared, so that's kind of nice). Yes, apparently direct threats to regular individuals that they don't care about are ok. Saw someone reinstated after one of those.
Nice to meet you!

@dnavinci @Rhodium103 granted that is self-infliced by the #greed of content rights holders.
IMHO #Copyright should be limited to 25 years as of publication AND be immediately voided if the rightsholders refuse to provide new copies / licenses under FRAND terms...
@ariaflame @Rhodium103 my problem isn't why not both, my point is that we are only doing one, and its the dumbest one.
I'm lucky enough to have been able to do many energy saving upgrades to my house. The people that don't have control of those choices, or money to do it are impacted.
That was a very twitterific response. Congrats on bringing the "why do you hate waffles" conversation back into my life
