I guess we’re now out of the “gradually” phase of #ClimateChange and into the “then suddenly all at once” phase.
@steve I remember 1998. We will soon have a decade of : the temperature has not increase since 2023.
@YvanDutil @steve
10 years seems at the high end:
the past "no warming since X" claim intervals have been 9, 10, 8, 6, 8, and 5 years, via SkepticalScience "escalator":

Escalator 2022

Examines the science and arguments of global warming skepticism. Common objections like 'global warming is caused by the sun', 'temperature has changed naturally in the past' or 'other planets are warming too' are examined to see what the science really says.

@JohnMashey @steve

Good comment.

But all the pro of denial use satellite data,

Which is a more reliable measure of global temperature: thermometers or satellites?

Thermometers are more reliable than satellites, so there!

@steve @chris_spackman I hate to say it but I think we’re still in the gradual foothills. Worse to come.
@steve The bad news is we aren't. This is still the 'gradually' stuff.
@steve Also, here's how to mitigate the heat phase and maybe the "Don't Look Up" phase.
@steve exponential curves are like that. 😭
