When I die, cremate me, mix my ashes with a bunch of sugar, and put me in the gas tank of people who drive jacked up pick up trucks with thin blue line stickers on them. I want my remains to ruin their engines.

@JessTheUnstill

Even today's stock pickups and SUVs are obnoxious. Old millennials like myself remember when pickups were useful, SUVs were for people living on dirt roads, and everyone else drove cars and vans.

Seriously, look at a mid 90s F150 vs today's. Those little Rangers and S10s were all the pickup most people needed and still need.

@JessTheUnstill @chidi_anagonye I completely agree.

Pickups are insanely over powered.

It's so totally unnecessary too.

There's a reason old (willys) jeeps and Landies are such sought after vehicles now...

They have a chassis. They are easy to maintain. Without needing to own a dealership. Parts are common.

But the engines are minute. The Willy's had less than 50hp, which is actually less than my first hatchback.

These vehicles could take a heavy load just fine.

They have low ratio gear boxes and AWD. What more do you need?

But now everyone seems to fantasize that they are going to drive their monster truck sized truck up a rock bouncer course without so much as scratching the paint, when back in reality, the only reasons they ever use them for are to allow the kids time to embed chewing gum into the back seat whilst $parent murders the normal family in in their hatch back because they're driving whilst replying their onlyfans subscribers, whilst 4 tons of American excess to the Mackie's that's only 50m from home, bouncing off the lane keeping assist rather than looking at the road...
