When it comes to the climate crisis I feel like we're in one of those stories where people need to build a boat to escape an island, but they don't even have the tools to build one. So they need to build the tools, to build the tools to build the tools to make a boat.

I see a lot of people saying "we need a boat."

Yes we totally need a boat - but which tools can we make right now that will get us there?

Joining an organisation, or just getting to know your neighbours is one of these basic tools. It won't get the boat built (it won't directly cause massive climate policy to be passed) but it's a way to start, and without it we will never get that boat.

BUT WE NEED A BOAT

Ok, so start cutting down trees, or weaving bullrushes

THAT'S NOT A BOAT

No, but it's a step there. No one else is coming to build the boat for us.

It's great that we know what we need - massive electrification and ending fossil fuels. So let's explore that, link by link and walk it back to how those things happen.

And how do the things that make *those things* happen?

And the things that make *those things*?

Until you get back to where you are. Because that's where you start.
