The entire topic has left their realm of rational thought and evaluation of truth, and simply become an emotional hot point that cannot be rationally evaluated. The Other are the enemy, the Other are saying that Donald did this, the Other are against all that is good and right and Us, therefore anything they hear against their Dear Leader must be a lie from the Other.
It's maddening, because it is mad.
