I’m releasing my little manga reader app Moga in very limited beta, so I made a little video walkthrough https://youtu.be/L1RuPUafYWQ

If this looks interesting to you, I opened up a limited TestFlight available here: https://testflight.apple.com/join/ILwREMUb

Please read the App Details test notes as there are usage caveats!

Wow that’s some thumbnail YouTube picked lol
@via Just downloaded it. Thanks
@via The TestFlight build expires in 7 days. Will there be a new one as Christmas present? 🎁😇
@hagedose68 sorry I’ve been traveling, I will stick a new refresh up at least if not one with new features
@via Thanks, that's much appreciated
@via is the beta closed btw? TestFlight doesn’t seem to accept a renewal and no new sign ups. The chance that the app will be officially released is sadly pretty low because of copyright issues, right?
@marcel right. The TestFlight isn’t actually closed, I just haven’t released a new build in a while. I’ll put one up in half an hour or so 😅
@marcel ok it’s up
@via thank you, it’s still saying that it’s not accepting new sign ups. I will wait till tomorrow and give you a feedback :)
@marcel oops, i didn't realized the testers limit was maxed out. I just increased it, go ahead now
@via it’s working now! Thank you 😊
@via testflight is down again)
Edit: it's up
@apothem ah yes, I meant to update it with some new stuff but never got around to it. I’ll try to update this week!
@via did you kill this project?
@damon no I just need to update it and refresh the provisioning. Planning on it tonight!
@via Awesome! I can’t wait to test it out once it’s available
@via is this project still going? Did you solve the historic accounts only limitation?
@imikotoba yes, it’s still supported. MangaDex still hasn’t implemented normal oauth, but you can sign in on any account now if you follow the instructions on the moga website (I think).
@via thanks. I might give it a shot if you’re still accepting test flight applications
@imikotoba is the TestFlight link not working?

@via Thanks - Test Flight works but:

(a) It says I need to update iOS (which means messing about with storage so pending), so not tried there yet

(b) On macOS scrolling with the mouse wheel worked, as did click-and-drag, but not the keyboard (e.g. space, cursor down, page down). Turning “touch alternatives" on the settings enabled cursor up/down but that moves too slowly (and seems to disable the mouse scroll wheel).

I'm guessing you’re a trackpad user because that works nicely for scrolling?

@imikotoba yes it’s mostly trackpad focused. I haven’t worked very much on macOS support beyond “it works on macOS” so there are def some rough edges 😅
@via well, if you fancy it, I think it would be a good start having space and page down scroll by a page or 1/2 page (perhaps configurable later), and page up the opposite. That to me is the low hanging fruit 🍇

@via Using the up/down cursor keys is more tricky.

Perhaps hold to scroll smoothly - but there’s a whole bunch of potential complications like macOS suggesting sticky keys or whatever it’s called as an accessibility service.

Or just offer a configurable fraction of the display to scroll on a single up/down cursor press? Maybe a quarter page by default, but I think that needs trying it to see how it feels.

@via Expires in 17 hours))
@apothem oh good catch. Wait you actually use it?
@via 😂
Occasionally, but yes. MangaDex integration is rather useful, plus can discover stuff directly inside the app without opening the website itself.
@apothem I'll update it later today, and also have a logged in state bugfix for it as well
