This is about as Midwest as it gets.
@scalzi [windows xp startup sound]
@scalzi Corn and cloudy sky? Could be my country too though.
@scalzi if you build it they will come

@scalzi

Quite pretty, but it is also 95 freedom units with 55% humidity? STICKY here in MN

@scalzi corn corn corn corn corn corn tree corn corn corn corn corn corn phone pole corn corn corn corn corn corn corn corn corn corn mailbox mailbox corn corn corn corn corn .... (Yes, I grew up in Ohio. Why do you ask?)
@scalzi Last summer I drove from Minneapolis to a small Illinois town near Dubuque. This necessitated a few hours of driving through rural Iowa. I have never seen so many cornfields in my whole dang life. Pretty sure I'm full up on them now.
@scalzi I may be biased, being born and raised in Wisconsin, but it needs more cheese and sausage.
@scalzi reminds me of the phrase I heard a lot growing up: “When the corn’s as high as an elephant’s eye…”
@scalzi Needs a barn with a basketball hoop.

It's funny, this Sunday I rode past almost that exact view. I was in Concord, MA on a bike path, just past RT2. As I passed I thought I should take a pic and no one would guess where I was.

I'm sure the field there is a bit bigger than the one in Concord. To be fair the price per acre here is a little bit higher ;-)

@scalzi I have some corn growing in my front yard that I'm pretty sure a squirrel planted which feels almost as Midwestern as this
@scalzi this image is giving me the bliss image vibes

@scalzi

"There was nothing to do but park up with a six pack of beer and listen to the corn grow..."

@scalzi since watching Lady Dynamite, I am compelled to yell “CORN!” whenever I see corn.
@scalzi All it needs is aliens, and an UFO.
@scalzi On my screen, if you do not click the picture it looks like grass and could look like somewhere in FL.
@scalzi Do the cloud dragons just sail past, or do they roost in the neighborhood?
