The west is now entering acceptance stages of grief with WSJ admitting that China's model is fundamentally communist as opposed to being rebranded version of western capitalism as western propagandists kept insisting all this time.

@yogthos Really spinning two separate threads here. Let me make sure I’m understanding the author: China dominates world markets with technically-empowered communism and state ownership of the means of production. Also, China’s social record isn’t pristine (and send the troops). What the author never explains is how these two things are necessarily related. Pro-tip, you can still match China’s growth by adopting their policies. Nobody is forcing you to repress ethnic groups along the way.

@oscarwestward yeah it's just so incoherent, not to mention that US has been committing far worse horrors than anything they've accused China of doing in the name of capitalism.

One example being that US has the highest incarceration rate in the world, disproportionately targeting minorities who are used as slave labor.

What moral authority does US have to force its despotic system on other countries exactly.

@yogthos flipping overnight from "yeah communism is great in theory but never works in real life" to "communism absolutely works and must be destroyed before it overtakes us"
