Another Red state flouts federal law, in this case HIPAA. #Abbott believes that the state of TX controls the US border with Mexico and can ignore environmental laws controlling barring blocking US waterways and basic human rights violations involving their scattering razor wire on federally controlled land and waterways. #TX has basically seceded from the Union. We should remove all federal aid to TX and send in the Marines to clean up OUR border and the Rio Grande.

@flexghost Why is this even possible? HIPAA states clearly that this is only for evidence of a crime - and then only for specific persons and not "give me the records of all gay men".

This would not be a hospital anymore I can trust. I would have expected that the hospital denies and brings the case up into the court hierarchies to show that they care about patients.

The proper response to a 'legal request' is:
"Fuck you. Get a warrant."
If people/ institutions with the power to fight don't, then it gets much harder for the rest of us.
I live in TN and have worked in healthcare. What the AG did is unconstitutional AND how Vanderbilt capitulated is unconscionable.
