I'm trying out all the microblogging alternatives and Mastodon deserves way more credit than it gets for having a lot of great people pleasers already baked in: Editable messages, the Tweetdeck-like advanced web interface, a chronological feed.
@drewharwell One thing that's really helping me finally cut ties are the mirror accounts (e.g. bird.makeup). It's really easy to follow the accounts I follow on Twitter on Mastodon now. Of course, it's only one way, and I normally really like the two-way interactions, but it's better than nothing until other people make the switch.
@brndnpink@drewharwell I only just learned about it today. It looks like there are a number of alternative services, but basically they seem to just copy tweets and retweets from public accounts over to mastodon. So if you follow someone on twitter named "foo", you can follow them on mastodon by following [email protected] (or any of other mirror services).
