"Democracies" are turning against online speech because online speech keeps revealing "democracy" for the hollow hoax that it is.
For a long time the ruling class saw social media as a harmless way for the peasants to blow off steam.
Now that nobody believes their media any more, and online speech is exposing them worldwide, they want to shut it down.
