Dear Catholics,

Pope Francis told a transgendered individual "God loves you as you are".

He leads an institution committed to the promulgation of the good news about the absolute and unconditional love God has for His created.

If that confuses you, let's talk.

If that enrages you, why?

If that makes you think the Holy Father is rejecting the Church, that's on you.

@PadreSJ Good to see this from the Catholic Church. A lot of Christian churches in the US could learn from not being hostile towards the LGBTQ community.

I just walked away from church over the last few years because Christ according to a number of churches isn’t for all humans. Just a specific subset.

@PadreSJ That's how I was taught (as a Lutheran). Jesus saves all.
@PadreSJ Absolutely! God IS LOVE! He loves ALL of us. Just remember, “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”
@PadreSJ I love he did that!! I have trans friends, who will be very happy. One sentence can change tons of lives.

@PadreSJ Instead of waiting until the afterlife to experience unconditional love, what if we tried to achieve it right here in this life? We’re not perfect, so maybe we have to start with unconditional acceptance as a way to build our way up to love.

How can any Christian reject Christ’s teachings and demonstrations of tolerance?
