So many beautiful new people on Mastodon! Here are a few tips to get you started:

koda - NSFW - 18+ only1. Upload a profile picture and post an #introduction (maybe with some photos too) with relevant hashtags like #gay, #pupplay, #rubber, etc. When you follow someone or fav/boost their post, they are less likely to follow you back if your profile is empty.
2. Follow lots(!) of people and follow hashtags too. This is the only way to populate your timeline and make it less boring since thereās no algorithm that recommends posts to you. To find people to follow, search for hashtags, check who other people follow or look at the ālocal timelineā of all posts from a server.
3. Donāt just post into the void, interact with people. Since hardly anybody who doesnāt follow you will see your posts in the beginning (thereās no algorithm that recommends your posts to non-followers), you have to actively engage with others. Generously fav/boost/reply to posts. The author will get notified and might get interested in your profile and follow you back.
4. Try a third-party app. Theyāre usually better than the official Mastodon app. E.g. on Android, thereās Tusky, Fedilab, Megalodon, on iOS thereās Ivory, Ice Cubes, Mona, and more. BTW, most apps have a setting to always expand posts with content warnings and always show sensitive media so you see them immediately.
