ALSO: No, just because some YouTuber with a heavy bias towards Medrano said that she did nothing wrong... doesn't mean she actually did nothing wrong. There's a pretty clear pattern of her not being the best person, and the art theft with SpindleHorse is just part of the more recent stuff. It started with the DollCreep drama, and it won't end with people like Erin Frost, Squiderdoodle, SpectralBeacon, and NineDoodles being mistreated by SH.

You can and should ask for better behavior from artists who do stuff like this. I know a lot of you are trans and/or nonbinary. This isn't an acceptable way to behave towards a friend of yours if they discover they're trans.

The series tries to have a balance between serious and silly. The main problem is that they let the silly overshadow the serious. The silly should ACCENT the serious.
Take FMA for example: Jokes about Ed being short are cleverly used to point to the fact that his body is linked to Al's.
With FMA, BAD THINGS are allowed to happen to our main characters, even if they perservere. Hughes is killed. Ed nearly dies a few times. Ed and Al struggle to get their bodies back.
With HB? All is typically resolved by the end of the episode! Octavia should only begrudgingly accept her father's apologies at this point! Sex joke! Drugs! Laugh now!

A couple notes for the people who want to defend Medrano in my replies:
1) "She apologized" **only** applies to certain dramas she had in the early-mid 2010s. This is the 2020s. Modern-day stuff. Stuff she has not addressed at all.
2) "It was debunked" is an outright lie most of the time. 99% of the time someone says that, they heard it in a YouTube video made by someone who love love loves VivziePop and has no criticisms of her whatsoever, making up a "debunk" so people don't have to think she did something wrong.
3) Criticizing Medrano for treating her employees poorly is a good thing. If she listens (though I doubt she will), the animators and artists who work hard to bring you the series you love will get properly rewarded for their labor!
4) Isn't it strange that Vivienne tends to vaguetweet shortly after a new YouTube video criticizing her work goes viral? Like when she made a thread about Millie right after someone made a video essay about how 2D Viv's female characters are?
5) "You're hostile!" As someone in my replies told me. Remember, you're the one who came into this thread defending this woman with BS points that I've heard a million times over and acting like she can't do any wrong. Disagreeing with everything I say just because it's criticism of someone whose work you enioy.
6) I'm posting Vivziepop critical content primarily in an attempt to make Fedi way less hostile towards people who have legitimate criticisms of Vivziepop than Twitter. Twitter HbH and HB fans tend to dogpile crits, no matter how polite they are.

@__k4nna The thing is: Medrano has a *pattern* of being less than kind to people she works with, and it's become more and more obvious as of late. Regardless of possible viewpoint changes, SpindleHorse still fosters a bad work environment.
It even shows in HB's quality sometimes.

Vivienne is absolutely not a perfect angel, as her fans tend to make her out to be. *Every* time someone criticizes her for something she does, fans say the same things: "It's been debunked"/"She apologized", without proof of either.
