Hmmm... I'm trying my darndest to get Twitter users to at least consider trying Mastodon. :") I know many mutuals who would be happy here rather than jumping onto another corporate/exploitative social media, but sometimes it feels like I'm talking to a brick wall. I speak from observing the cycle of corporate social media for 10+ years.

Bsky/Threads/Instagram/Etc are the "easier" options despite being detrimental to the future of networking. Sigh.

@Snewdraws I've been trying to use .art's ban against AI and NFT stuff to lure over my artist friends, but not only a few have listened so far. Maybe I should've told them about the blobfox emotes instead
@Dreamstroph It shocks me that artists are picking a platform that has openly announced that they use posts to train AI!?!? (Bluesky) They are voluntarily feeding their artwork right into the AI machine. Arghh it makes me wanna scream >_<
@Snewdraws I guess they consider it the "safe" option among the socials that are available due to its popularity. A lot of the artists I know do this for a living, so I guess they're prioritizing whichever platform might net them more clients :/ Still, I'll keep recommending .art to anyone who will listen. It's just been so chill here and I love it
@Dreamstroph @Snewdraws tbh, i saw artists with 1.5k on mastodon getting more filled commissions than on their 30k twitter accounts, so i guess they should focus on which platform will make they interact more with the artist, which as i saw mastodon looks like that platform
