Hmmm... I'm trying my darndest to get Twitter users to at least consider trying Mastodon. :") I know many mutuals who would be happy here rather than jumping onto another corporate/exploitative social media, but sometimes it feels like I'm talking to a brick wall. I speak from observing the cycle of corporate social media for 10+ years.

Bsky/Threads/Instagram/Etc are the "easier" options despite being detrimental to the future of networking. Sigh.

@Snewdraws I totally get it. I hate everytime there's an alternative that shows up and everyone jumps in blindly as in the twitter-ender, but it's like, the same scheme?
I've tried things (artfol, inkblot..) but nothing comes close to the amount of interactions I got from here. It feels so nice to get kind words from people and see your art perform way better than in any social platform you've tried so far.
It makes me want to interact more with people, and I say this as an anxious and shy galπŸ˜…

@Llieka I thought I would be happy with an art-focused website like dA/Inkblot/Etc, but the modern internet doesn't work well with artists using separate sites away from a general audience. I feel like this is the best option we got, as it still fosters a healthy art community while allowing non-artists from other communities to view and appreciate our work. Best of both worlds!

I really want more people to consider Mastodon a viable option, I find artists really enjoy it here once they try it.

@Snewdraws Exactly my thoughts ☺️ It also feels like you're not pressurised into interacting or frequent posting or else your account is thrown into the void and that is such a good thing
