It is absolutely adorable how pleased GM and Ford are at being allowed inside the Tesla charging network. So excited they and their investors are wetting their pants.

Meanwhile, ten years ago EU regulators said if you want to install a charger, fine, but it must have a standard connector. Even for "private" Tesla-only chargers.

Now they are becoming accessible to other EVs. No hardware change required.

It's all well and good for Ford and GM to piggyback on Tesla hardware. But they also probably are now exposed to the risk that Tesla will pull out, throw them out, or pull some other stunt that hangs them out to dry.

Because Musk has never made something available for free, them suddenly pulled out, then come back again for a price, right?

@CelloMomOnCars this seems to me like such a non starter. It’s great that they are trying and it should have been tried years ago, but I don’t see the 7 of them (technically 6 companies) ever agreeing on anything that will get this to move forward.

Getting conscripted into an army is an "experience," as is getting chewing gum in one's hair. Or falling overboard, etc.

I'll be happy when "experience" is replaced with some other euphemism for "we own your data and we own you" but so far "experience" shows no signs of fading.
