I barely made it to #primm Nevada with less than 10 miles of charge left.
My Hyundai #ioniq5 range estimate was off by about 60 miles on a 200 mile trip. Pretty nerve wracking pulling to the charger with 10 miles of range left

pitstop 2. quick charge up at one of the brand new 180kw BCHydro chargers in Sydney at the east end of the YYJ runway!
Our Kona maxes out at 77kw. We'll charge to 80 or so. Only 212km to get back home.

The “sticker range” advertised on the lot for our new 2019 Hyundai Kona EV was 420km.
The battery was replaced under recall at around 40,000km in 2022 a couple months before we went on an epic 12,000km Pacific-Atlantic-Pacifc cross Canada adventure.
Fast forward to today. The car is at 226,000km and I am headed 225km down to Victoria to bring my wife home from the Airport.
Car is ready. 100% charge. 468km on the rangeOmeter. That is city driving so I don’t expect to get that range at highway speeds. I’ll top it up in Sydney before heading home. This was always our main criteria. Can we drive to Victoria comfortably.
Yep. No problem. Even 200,000km later!
Range anxiety is a myth foisted on you by the oil industry. They are gas lighting the world into believing we are the problem, evs are the problem, electric systems are the problem.
They are the problem. Them. Not us. Them. They need to end.

@GreenFire The problem is that instead of BEVs full of conflict minerals we could reduce that and their excessive cost & weight with #FuelCell technology, which would also allow easier transition of infrastructure as gas stations can easier convert a pump and a reservoir to #Methanol than one can install half a dozen superfast chargers...
- Plus it'll combat #RangeAnxiety and allow the conversion of #HeavyDuty equipment like #Trucks & Excavators as well as Ambulances and even the emergency Generators in Hospitals...
