In case you didn’t hear, or aren’t from #DurhamNC: last week a bizarre car crash (maybe involving a shooting, maybe not, it’s not 100% clear at the moment) resulted in a car driving fully into the middle of Rofhiwa Books, a Black+Queer-owned bookstore here in Durham. (While they were closed, thankfully.)

The place is TRASHED and even though they are insured, it’ll take a while to get things sorted. In the meantime, they have to take care of their employees.

@rossgrady Looked at streetview, my immediate response is "needs more bollards." The building is far too open to the intersection, as well as providing zero protection to any pedestrians waiting to cross out front.

Utter failure on the city's part to create an intersection like that without protecting the pedestrians and buildings from traffic.
