@jbf1755 I am finding this all rather worrying ... it's one thing to complain to the press or whoever that you don't like X or Y or Z. It's another when you say that you don't have to follow anything you don't like. Trump led the way ... concerns that he was normalizing flouting of the rule of law appear to be right on point.

I agree-SCOTUS is a corrupt travesty & governors are ignoring it & our POTUS’s administration.
Eisenhower sent Nat’l Guard to desegregate schools.

It is really frightening. FL DeSantis wants his Sturmabeteilung. I never thought I would be able to spell that without looking it up. The TX border razor wire makes the Communists’ Berlin Wall look gentle. They only wanted to keep their people in. What if a pregnant TX woman wants to get out to get an abortion? They just took an OK teenager to jail for 90 days for self-administered abortion. Can you say fall of Weimar yet?

Not to say that what Abbott is doing in Texas isn’t cruel, but they had soldiers with machine guns patrolling the Berlin Wall. It wasn’t just a wall, it was two walls with an empty area in between and you had to get through that clear area to get to the other side.

@jbf1755 Actually, the DOJ gave Texas until today to remove the barriers. Abbott told the DOJ “Texas will see you in court!” and the DOJ agreed by filing suit against Texas today.

@jbf1755 Did you ever watch “Designated Survivor” with Keifer Sutherland? Catastrophic bomb during the president’s SOTU speech means all but 2 members of Congress are killed in the blast and the federal government must be rebuilt. There’s a couple of episodes where governors are doing the same thing - blatantly ignoring/running over federal laws and regulations because the governors claim the president is illegitimate and claim they don’t have to answer the federal government.

We need to also blame the Dem leaders who kept claiming that "America needs a strong Repub party." (Biden, Pelosi, et al)

No. We need neither a blatantly fascist party, nor Dem sympathies w/fascists. Now is the time to pull down artificial barriers that keep 3d parties out of our system. Make the release valve for decent conservative to leave & let the Repubs go to oblivion.

While we're at it, prosecute Desantis for kidnapping migrants.
