@prairiedog #Friendica is fully inter-operational with #Mastodon and other #Fediverse-Software, you can read, react and comment on Mastodon posts from your Friendica account and vice versa. You even can use most of the apps for Mastodon on #iOS and #Android. Friendica has, however, additional functions when used in the browser - both, on PC and mobile, for example groups and community-related features, more granular permissions, photo albums, forums, no character limit, formatting of text etc. If you will, you could compare it with #Facebook / FB Groups or #Tumblr while Mastodon is more like #Twitter.
