Yes @emptywheel. Thank you. Now let’s ask why& what the consequences are of the media & expert analysts on cable TV constantly whitewashing Trump’s targeting of Black voters.Below are my tweets from the KKK Act suit the NAACP LDF filed right after the election. It was there in plain sight.

Trump's Attack on Black Votes Was There the Whole Time, We Just Didn't Call It a Crime - emptywheel

Trump deployed threats of violence to make it harder to count the votes of Black and Latino voters but no one treated it as a crime.

@ifilljustice
The consequences are these supposed journalists are complicit.
@ifilljustice @emptywheel Even a non-journalist like me noticed which counties Trump and his allies were complaining about the most: Maricopa County in Arizona, Fulton County in Georgia, Wayne County in Michigan, Philadelphia County in Pennsylvania, Milwaukee County in Wisconsin. Counties with the largest Black populations in each state. This is most definitely a voting rights/civil rights issue.
@TomShafShafer @ifilljustice @emptywheel
Yes, me too. I wondered, being familiar with Fulton and Wayne counties. But I also wondered about the lack of civil rights discussion.

What's the next step? That state legislature has to abide by the law or face consequences. Who can remove those who refuse to redraw the maps and replace them with people willing to do so? Refusing to redraw the maps violates their oath of office. Carry on.

@ifilljustice @emptywheel Feature, not bug.The majority of the teleprompter-reading talking heads on TV are white millionaires paid by white billionaires, so of course the concerns of marginalized communities who aren't rich white people are always going to fall underneath their radar.

@ifilljustice This is a truly hopeful post in some senses because maybe someone is actually looking at the effort to restrict black and very diverse city votes. It deserves to be focussed on. I agree with you @illfiljustice@mastadonsocial we need answers to those question you pose.https://www.emptywheel.net/2023/07/20/trumps-attack-on-black-votes-was-there-the-whole-time-we-just-didnt-call-it-a-crime/

Another big thank you to emptywheel.

@ifilljustice

I have a serious ongoing hate crime CRA case that I have reported to everybody and CANNOT report to the authorities. I need representation (with ZERO access to the system because legal funnels). Both race and gender for an ALIVE person. This task is impossible without knowing exactly who to contact. Not a lawyer and I need to be. ALL usual channels don't work and I am going increasingly under without an advocate. Can't do ALONE. Giving up is life threatening. Nowhere to turn?????

@ifilljustice No idea how to find a serious expert who can handle both RACE AND GENDER simultaneously. This is a precedent setting case for WOMEN but every lawyer except the dialed in one has at least one conflict. I don't fit the cookie cutter case but mine aims directly for the confederacy with proof. I feel like women have no representation in this system bc the numbers are nil.
