I don't think many will agree, but the first of these dresses is one of *the* prettiest: absolutely gorgeous.

@chiffchaff What a lovely video. My favourite is the silk evening dress at the end, but I never did get on with brown.
@lnr The V&A is a wonderful museum: one of my favourite places. I'm hoping to see what the new branch up in Dundee is like some day soon: a bit shocked to find it's half the distance of London now! 😀
@chiffchaff That reminds me, only a week and a half til we're up your neck of the woods! We're going to Alnwick Castle on Saturday 29th, but I don't think we have any firm plans for the rest of the week.
@lnr @chiffchaff Ooh I’ve wanted to visit the poison garden at Alnwick for a very long time ☺️

@antinomy @chiffchaff sadly the garden is a separate venture, and £16 each! (My mum had some 2for1 vouchers but they're not valid in the school hols), so I think we're not likely to visit this time.

I think the kids (Matthew and his cousins aged 3 and 3/4 to just turned 14) are all more into the Harry Potter connection.

@antinomy @lnr It's great. They've got Giant Hogweed, Coca, Cannabis, Datura, the lot. Henbane is my fav, it looks so malevolent, I think because it somehow seems drab and dusty, like it's disguised as a maid in a Sherlock Holmes story, hiding something under its coat. Don't remember any Brugmansia, though, which I've always wanted to see.
@lnr It would be great to see you all, we're around that week: I'll message you.
@lnr Barter Books is definitely worth a visit. It reminds me of the Foyles of old, but with much less of an air of it being a front for a Warsaw Pact secret srevice.
@chiffchaff That's one of the places mum and dad are planning to potter while we're all at the castle :) I'm a bit sad we'll miss it though.
@chiffchaff I am always amazed when there are descriptions like, "There are no fastenings we're aware of, so most likely the wearer would have been pinned or sewn into the garment." That was something you had to really think about putting on.
@aardvark179 Quite! Spookily reminds me of when bodies at sea were sewn into hammocks too!
