@Akashana A Nintendo gal. I grew up on an NES and then SNES before I started doing most of my gaming on PC. Never got into later consoles of my own until I finally picked up an Xbox One once I moved to Seattle. Any PlayStation or other consoles I played were either friends’ or borrowed.

I did also have a classic GameBoy way back when. One of my brothers gave me his Sega GameGear so that was really my only regular Sega exposure. Had a GameBoy DS in college (for Animal Crossing!)

@RyanWelsh I grew up on NES too. I know I forgot some games from that time in my list, like Paperboy and Joust, both of which a friend of mine owned.

Once the SNES came out, my parents were done buying gaming consoles so I hardly played any console game until FF9 on the original PlayStation. Never owned a handheld until 3DS. By that time I had found PC gaming, which I think is still my preferred now.

We have a PS4 but use it mostly for streaming 😜

@Akashana Love all the Mario representation here
@slaggymcwaggy Nintendo has made (and is still making) so many good Mario games. There were others I really like but I only had 10 spots for the list, haha.
@Akashana I could have easily made a Top 10 just with Mario games too! I went with Mario 3 because it was a core gaming memory for me (although so was Mario 2!) and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe because it’s like the ultimate version (though if I did the list again I probably would have included Double Dash!! instead!)
@slaggymcwaggy Oh, I also could have made a full list with just Mario games. I grew up with Mario 3! I love the original, and the US version of 2 was fun, but they can't beat 3 for me.
@Akashana Same! I will forever love Giant World
@slaggymcwaggy Giant World is just so fun!
@Akashana I will say though that Kuribo’s Shoe was very underutilized 😞
@slaggymcwaggy Couldn't agree more! Was it only in one level? A travesty.
@Akashana Yes, I think just one! Maybe two at the most. Really my only criticism of SMB3 🤣
@Akashana I feel like I remember reading once that they ended up finding it hard to implement naturally in more levels but I also could just be imagining that - I’ll have to go back and rewatch some of my favorite SMB3 YouTube documentaries and see if I can find any reference to it. It was just in 5-3 which figures - World 5 is so weird but memorable!

@slaggymcwaggy I can kind of see that. But it's not like Mario 3 is peak narrative or anything. They could have probably found a way 😄 And I agree, World 5 is interesting.

Man, I need to play that game again!

@Akashana I love the dungeon that ends up going into the sky - my mind was blown the first time!
@slaggymcwaggy Oh heck yeah, that dungeon is so neat! It's so different from all the others.
@Akashana I also love 5-2 where you are dropping down from the warp pipe for a long time!

@slaggymcwaggy I'm completely blanking on that warp pipe...

Although that makes me think of world 7. I'm not sure if Giant World or Pipe World is my favorite.

@Akashana I love the platforms that change direction when you jump on them
@Akashana But I’d have to say Giant World without a doubt!

@slaggymcwaggy Yes, those platforms that change directions are so fun! And thank you for the video, I love that level!

Pipe World might take my top spot, but just barely.

@Akashana +1 on Zelda. it can do no wrong
@Akashana alright, there's one good game on there ;).
@civfanatics Pfft, nah. There's 10 good games on there 😄
