Okay I put TPU tubes on my bike yesterday and it hasn't gone well so far, a pinch getting my tyres on during the operation, and a snakebite just now on a kerb I've taken many times using butyl inner tubes.....

On the plus side, there was a small but noticeable difference on gradients and slow grinding inclines, I've been using a gear higher for the same effort. Less rotating mass definitely helps.

@nicksalt are those like the Revoloop tubes that are quite expensive but are suggesting even better results than tubeless?

@reallyflygreg they are like latex kind of, thinner, delicate. Ridiculously light, 28g. They need pumping up once a week instead of every ride like latex. I was told they were quite sturdy and puncture resistant, hopefully it's just teething issues I'm having...

Edit, yes revoloop are tpu tubes 👍

@nicksalt thank you! I noticed there is a sale on at https://ottalausinc.ca/ . I should get some for my fat bike. It needs every advantage it can get! 😂

@reallyflygreg I've bought the race formula ones from eBay, maybe I cheaped out too much, but other people recommended them, it's too early to say I hope 🤣🤣🤣
@nicksalt it's an experiment!
@reallyflygreg A risky one for a commuter bike 🤣🤣🤣 I was lucky it happened on the way back from work and not the way to work. And not very clever forgetting my toolkit and spare tubes.
@nicksalt
If it helps, the Revoloop ones are coming out with a generation 2 version soon because of the exact problems you seem to be having. Probably why they were so cheap there.
