I always think about the order songs are in on an album like a batting order in baseball - you gotta have a strong opener to get on base, and your best songs should be in the 3rd or 4th positions, batting cleanup, with your weaker songs on the back half of the lineup.
Obviously you would rather have all your songs be bangers, but how often does that happen?
