@nixCraft s/GitHub/git/

GitHub should be indeed avoided, especially for libre software projects…

@nixCraft I worked at a place that handled SW like that + an excel sheet with arrows and boxes with the "commit messages".

Me and another new colleague introduced SVN and gtest. The rest of the team was flabbergasted that those tools even existed...

@nixCraft

Vaguely labeled files thrown loose in a folder 😇

@nixCraft I made these as a joke but I have a folder on my work computer full of bash scripts from when I started 7 years ago and im pretty sure there are 10 versions of the same one with the final one being called something like 'script_useme_fixed_2.bat'
@tristan @nixCraft mine is a mess too a have a big ass folder “code” with inside others; “AI”, “Python”, “Git”,… the issue is sometimes a project could be labeled in another category and I have copy of the same dataset everywhere but I send everything to BackBlaze. 🤣
When you dont trust anything with an ai 🤣
@nixCraft I remember before Git was written, we already used SVN everywhere. And an older guy tried to convince me that RCS was still better and more convenient.
