There was a reason union membership started to slide in the 70's and that was because in general the Unions goal ceased to be looking after their members and switched to bridging themselves across to that blue line. I had something like 10 jobs over my working career and I was a union member in four of those. Each time I watched the union screw over their members by either being incompetent, nasty or doing sweetheart deals with the employers.
I sure hope things have changed.
