#archery
Hey @8bitarcher & @ldottxt we've got another one here!
Don't worry @warboss5, they're just both also into archery and can really appreciate the satisfaction of that first bullseye.
@bassios @Texan_Reverend @ldottxt @warboss5 nice! Boffer arrow heads? I believe there's also significant poundage rules to keep the speed low?
or is it more just for demonstrative purposes against targets? :)
@8bitarcher @bassios @Texan_Reverend @ldottxt
I started shooting myself because I don't like guns but wanted to be at least marginally useful if society completely collapses, lol
That being said, I'd found it strangely meditative to practice. Breathe in as I raise the bow, breathe out as I draw, and release. My best shots are invariably when I focus on my breathing and stop worrying about aiming.

I’m looking into a local group that does intro archery classes!! SOOON.
(I have shot a bow a few times, but not well 🤣)
@RavynWitch @bassios @8bitarcher @Texan_Reverend @ldottxt
I've found it remarkably fun to just go out and shoot, even without any sort of formal training. I'm lucky that there's a park with a sizable archery range only about 10 minutes from my apartment.
@RavynWitch @bassios @Texan_Reverend @ldottxt @warboss5 awesome! Finding a local group is a massive win, you'll often get a much more engaging coaching session as well as the opportunity to join an established community should it be something which pokes the right buttons for you. :D
If you'd like to get a wee leg up on the other participants ahead of time however
