Pet peeve: I don’t like when media outlets do this. CNBC *KNOWINGLY* messaged a defunct email address at Twitter that they KNOW is programmed to respond with this emoji (and has been for 8 months).

Just email Musk directly for comment. We all have his contact info. It’s such a farce to email a dead email acct you KNOW will return this emoji then act like it’s some sacrilege and write it up in this way.

@taylorlorenz I go back and forth with this. On one hand, you're right about it, but on the other hand, if the regular process is to contact the media email the they should keep doing that. Don't give special treatment unless he's changed the process because he could have removed the email altogether.
Unless, of course, as someone else said, if emailing him directly is the route Twitter has chosen to give insightful responses, then that should be the correct path.
