"Don't tell me what to do": The actual Republican platform (ft. Ethan Grey) - Lemmy.world

Someone needs to inform this guy that it’s possible to upgrade from microblogging to just regular blogging.
On the plus side, this format builds in something resembling paragraph breaks where you might otherwise get a solid wall of text. Might not be an issue for this guy without post length limit enforcement but I’ve seen many where it would help.
So Republicans have ODD?
Oppositional Defiant Disorder

Oppositional defiant disorder (ODD) is a disruptive behavior disorder that emerges during childhood or adolescence and is characterized by persistent angry or irritable mood, unruly and argumentative behavior, and vindictiveness. It frequently manifests in hostility toward authority figures.

Psychology Today

"One group the law protects but does not bind, and one group the law binds but does not protect." aka "rules for thee, none for me" aka "I dictate, you obey" categorises people into hierarchy of ubermensch (the group the law protects but does not bind) and untermensch (one group the law binds but does not protect).

That's fascism, not ODD

Oh no, you said the fascism word. That’s why the news has a messaging problem. Because, to call that out would mean one of the two parties has failed. And the whole system crumbles. Get out of here with your third party, this is a democracy.
You can have a democracy while having more than two parties. You just need a way of counting votes that isn’t first-past-the-post.

“This is a thread on Republican messaging. The press doesn’t want to have a direct conversation with you about this. So as a former Republican who is now a consistent Democratic voter, I will. Thread.”
