First train today, an undesired desiro, Brussels S8. (Picture from Luxembourg station, i entered in Etterbeek). #imonatrain #localtrainday
2nd train, IC 506, at Brussels North. Shoddy picture, but I like that they either redesigned or I never saw their luggage spots, meaning you can avoid the duplex stairs :)
3rd train R(E): 5008 at Welkenraedt. ICs from Bxl directly to Aachen when?

4th train: Rhein-Ruhr-Express RE4 from Aachen.

National Express still is a weird train name for use in regional German trains. I like the #Euregio transit map much better. #mapstodon #ilikemaps

5th train: RE 42 at Mönchengladbach.
After a break of visiting family at the Lower Rhine I am back on track: train 6 is RE6, departing #DuisburgHBF.
The station is under construction, and I do like what I‘m seeing!
Fun fun fun…

I arrived so late in Minden that it was less than 10 min waiting for train 7: RE70.

Westfalenbahn will bring me from Östlichstwestfalen to Western Ostfalen 😅

Arrived, only one more vehicle on rails :)

Hard-earned, well deserved beer.

So Bxl-H is doable with #Deutschlandticket and 🇧🇪 IC&R. Quite okay if you visit someone who lives along the route, otherwise you better bring lots of food & water with you.
Losing an hour due to traffic in Duisburg was stupid, losing another 30 min because in Germany no train journey goes unpunished sucks, of course.

@Squig Perhaps not useful today, but maybe in the future: https://bahn.expert/. Saw a talk of this yesterday. Guy works at the DB now for a while after giving some talks about their APIs. Pulls most data from same sources as DB Navigator but uses it „better“. Often better relating „Wagenreihung“ and stuff because of some different sources. His talk from GPN 2023 will become online after his trial period at the DB. 😉
