I was not aware that underwater hockey was a thing, but there's a local team in Seattle. Via The Seattle Times, a Seahammers member describes underwater hockey as "having a high barrier to entry."

@mgrass speaking of hybrid sports in the Seattle area, is the plaque still there at the Cal Anderson Park basketball court noting that it is where bike polo was invented? I thought I took a photo of that, but I can’t find it in my files. :(
