Had caller to my radio show last night try to tell me Trump was not the cause of the Jan 6 attack. I no longer debate Trumpers. I simply say: “Assuming trump was responsible for the Jan 6 terrorist attacking to overturn the election you would still support him, right? “ They just go silent. Why? Because they would. That is the most alarming part of this because it’s what a fascist movement looks like.
@DeanObeidallah clever tactic...others should do the same
@DeanObeidallah I am always struck that the GOP holds on to the title of “The Party of Lincoln” while simultaneously waving the Confederate flag. A perfect example of why we need to teach history in our schools.
@jackiegardina @DeanObeidallah You are 100% right, Jackie. There is a serious lack in knowledge of history. All seriousness aside, Lincoln looks down at the @GOP and says, “Stop calling yourselves Republicans.” Jesus looks down on them and says, “Stop calling yourselves Christian.” And we all know that whenever one of them prays an angel projectile vomits. :)

@DeanObeidallah

That's how you do it! Don't squabble with them over the small lie they've chosen - assert the larger over-arching truth and make them deal with that.

@DeanObeidallah I think the argument from there is "it wasn't a terrorist attack, it was a peaceful demonstration!"

You know, the protest where someone started banging on the door to the inner chamber of Congress. Because they wanted to be, like, really, REALLY peaceful, you see.

@DeanObeidallah That's a clever way to say it. I hope I remember to try it if I get the chance. lol
@DeanObeidallah if it looks like a fascist, talks like a fascist, do things a fascist would do, and befriends fascists, then it's a fascist.
