My ex gave me her old MBP 2019 after the display broke. Instead of getting a new one, she just bought an M1. Anyway… The mod works great actually. I’m not getting any issues with external displays as some others got. The only con is that I can’t get the KB backlight to work. At all. I’m wondering if it’s because it thinks the “lid” is shut, so it won’t come on. But I’m honestly not sure. I can’t adjust the slider in macOS…any ideas from a genius? I’ve tried everything.

Not 100% sure but… Some MBP had the light sensor on their display. The keyboard would ONLY light up if that sensor detected it was in a dark environment.

There could probably be a tweak online to manipulate that sensor or to always turn on the keyboard backlight.

If the sensor is on the display(I believe so) then it’s obviously gone. I did my research on forcing the keyboard backlight on without the sensor but I can’t find anything.
Does this setting still exist?
How can I force my keyboard backlight to turn on?

I have a MacBook Pro. When it senses the ambient light is low, the backlit keyboard turns on, and there are keys that let me control its brightness. But when enough light reaches the ambient light
