If you're not aware of the Black Game Developer Fund (I wasn't!), hey, now you are. This is rad! https://blackgamedevfund.com/apply/

Yo #GameDev folks, maybe spread this one out a bit? I know very little about the fund itself / I can't vouch for it or anything, but more options to choose from is better than less when it comes to funding.

(it just popped up in Colin Macdonald's mailing list, not really sure why, since I think it's been around for quite a while- but hey! more visibility for it might help anyways)

and since you're here already and might be curious:

Another impact funder (which I can vouch for because I'm on the committee) is Wings Fund, which aims at funding women and diverse gendered folks: https://wingsfund.me/

WINGS Games Funding for Women & Gender Marginalised Developers - WINGS

WINGS invests in indie games made by women and diverse teams. Our investment decisions are driven by a selection committee of outstanding game developers that are representative of the strength and diversity of the industry.

@glassbottommeg

holy crap I had no idea.

Also, browsing the projects, and :
"Build a music box full of bicyle-based instruments and create and share musical compositions to uplift, inspire, and ultimately save a community in the midst of a zombie apocalypse"

@glassbottommeg Another route is to support and buy games made by minority developers. I will point to Protodroid Delta as an example. This was a game I bought during a kickstarter and the developer did a great job. I'm terrible at the game unfortunately. >shrug<
In conclusion, do one, the other, or as the meme goes, "Why not both?"
@glassbottommeg I've seen it before and it makes me wish I was making a game at the moment lol

@glassbottommeg I guess I'll spread it around then.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
