JamieA bug in MATE Desktop has decided for me. My new distro and desktop is #Debian with #XFCE. Things are very good. I'm still using a bunch of MATE apps like Caja (file manager), Engrampa (archiver), Atril (document viewer) but those all integrate fine. I kinda wish #LinuxMint would move to #LMDE as the main distro, Debian could do with the extra polish and settings and helper apps.

I thought the built in apps weren't the best and it would take a lot of customisation to be ideal for me. XFCE 4.18 does pretty much everything I want with minimal tweaking or interruption.

@am Custom keyboard shortcuts don't work properly. I set Super+e to open text editor but it opens file manager, that seems to be a default keybind and you can't override it anymore. It worked in the past. I found another key too which does the same thing. I can see reports of the same error happen on Ubuntu 22.10 which aren't fixed.
I've used MATE since it was created but was recently impressed with the latest XFCE so it's worked out as the perfect time to change desktop anyway :)
@suprjami bizarre. Maybe they hard coded it.
