No community building tools, no way to prioritize posts from people you know, it's just an avalanche of posts from corporate and proto-corporate "influencers". I kind of hope it never actually joins the Fediverse
He Who Ponders The Skull@greylurk Even if it does...It might not get federated by a lot of servers. So, an extremely limited audience outside of Threads will have to deal with it.
Red Lila@greylurk Yeah, I deleted all my FB/Meta accounts years ago and never looked back. Kind of gave up on for-profit social media entirely
@redlila I've never deleted a social media account, I usually just fade from them. Like I've still got a Foursquare and a Myspace account, I think, unless they've done a purge.
@greylurk Oh I just didn't want Facebook having my data anymore at all. They actually make it really hard to delete your account, takes a lot of effort to find the place to do it and then if you login to any of their sites in the next 30 days it cancels the deletion
