I don’t mind players falling if they’re trying to take a charge. It can be hard for refs to determine a charge if the player doesn’t fall over.I hope that’s not part of the new rule.

I approve of both of these, especially the flopping rule. Would make the game so much more enjoyable

I like the flopping rule, but I think it will be difficult to enforce in-game. I’d rather see someone look at footage post-game and suspend players. It will be a lot easier to enforce with time to review tape. This is just going to be one of those penalties that is never called.
Regarding the 2nd change, does that mean the coach can only have 2 challenges at most? or can the coach challenge as much as he can as long as it’s always successful?
It’s 2 challenges at most.
They should get a 2nd (3rd) in overtime imo.
They can’t even call traveling right, so I don’t have high hopes this will be called correctly often

I’m a fan of the second challenge. It feels silly that coaches feel the need to “save their challenge for later in the game” and so they avoid challenging an obvious error.
Flopping was supposed to be punished after the fact with a fine, but it was rarely enforced. If they can’t enforce it with the benefit of hindsight, how are they going to enforce it in real-time?
Honestly I like enforcing it after the fact. If it’s in real time, feels like it’s just another tool for refs to use to take over the game.
They should make it a video refs job only. I don’t know what it is with this stubborn NBA. Most of the shit could be fixed with a permenant video ref.

This is my concern as well. Sure there will be some pretty obvious calls, but there are definitely going to be a bunch of BS flopping calls as well. It’s also quite obvious that the refs will be completely incapable of enforcing this consistently since they currently fall for flopping antics all the time.
Getting a second coaches challenge after winning the first seems like a no brainer. I would love for flops to be taken out of the game so I’ll be cautiously optimistic about that change.
gonThe flopping rule is basically irrelevant. There are tons of rules that aren’t ever enforced; as far as I’m concerned those are empty words until it gets consistently called.
The coach’s challenge change however is HUGE. Whether it’s gonna be good or bad, I can’t say. Challenges get denied all the time, so I doubt this will actually make the coaches more prone to calling it, but it might make it so that we see early obvious challenges more often since coaches often don’t challenge obvious calls early in the game because they prefer to keep the challenge for the 4th quarter.
