The new release of Thunderbird is now out! It looks awesome, it’s modernized all over, and I’ll give it a good try this week to try and make it my default calendar and email app:

What’s New in Thunderbird 115

Thunderbird
@thelinuxEXP Arch will stay on 102.x as long as it’s still supported, but I fear that the UI overhaul is too much for people who have their habits and did not ask for such a change (my father is one of them).
@thelinuxEXP but does it minimize to tray yet ;)
@thelinuxEXP I really like that new UI! Will test it out as soon as available, they seem to have problems shipping it out as of right now, I'll see tomorrow.
@thelinuxEXP I hope it can make my crusade against Outlook easier..
@thelinuxEXP unfortunately, it frequently hides all mailboxes except the local mailbox at seemingly random times. Hopefully, the bug will be fixed soon.
@thelinuxEXP would be nice to have a flatpak to test and install it, hope it connects with both google and microsoft corporatives accounts so i can get rid of constant computer switching
@sombriks @thelinuxEXP Thunderbird has taken ownership of the Flatpak build on Flathub, and 115 should be there in the next few days 💪

I had all emails forwarded to Gmail because I liked the interface, and there wasn't enything remotely similar.
However. I came back to thunderbird after checking the beta. Even I moved all my important emails out of Google and pay a mail service provider with my out domain name.
This update is huge!
@thelinuxEXP Finally! Now I am just waiting on the K9-mail redesign to become thunderbird on mobile.
@thelinuxEXP the update looks cool. Now I'm tempted to use Thunderbird for all my email.
@thelinuxEXP I used to be a Thunderbird user before the GNOME messaging/calendar suite got better. Honestly the main thing that drove me from Thunderbird WAS the design so this is a welcome change.
@thelinuxEXP it’s prettier but takes a usability hit.
@thelinuxEXP can you also share your thoughts after a week?
@thelinuxEXP
Woah, I thought Thunderbird was dying. Turns out it wasn't! Can't wait to try it out.
