Bought some prosciutto at #Lidl in #Belgium. I will only buy meat with an orange sticker to promote the meat industry as little as possible without going vegan. The pkg had a “Zero Gaspi- €0,20 à consummer aujourd'hui” sticker. The cashier ignored the orange sticker & only scanned the #zeroGaspi sticker. So I was only charged 20¢. Is that correct? This is a great deal.
@expat
It probably is correct.
If not: "bonne affaire"... 😁
@on5zo I’ll be watching for more of those stickers for sure. Glad I didn’t take the pkg where the orange sticker covered up the zero gaspi sticker. In any case, it seems they used the wrong sticker. Probably should have been 50¢ for meat: https://corporate.lidl.be/fr/durabilite/nouvelles/lidl-lance-l-initiative-bon-appetit-zero-gaspi

@expat
BTW do they have LIDL in France?
We don't have Auchan here 😁
@on5zo I see that lidl.fr exists, but visit the ones in Belgium, and occasionally Netherlands.
@expat
Most things in Holland are cheaper. And in France too.
Prices here are always higher...
Lots of Belgians shop in Auchans just across the border.
@on5zo I suppose that’s people with a car because I’ve never seen Auchans mentioned as a cheap cross-border destination for trains/buses. I tend to visit Aachen, Lille, Eindhoven, Rotterdam, Hague, Maastricht, & Amsterdam because they’re cheaply reachable by bus.

@expat
Yes. Big cars. Loaded up with wine and champagne. Especially 3rd week of December.

Many Belgians (not we here) have a company car and fuel card. So driving 100km for cheap booze is not an issue.
