Replacing Yoast with SEOPress on all mine and a big clients sites today - had enough of Yoast adding junk 'features' and 'notifications'
#webDevelopment #wordPress #yoastSEO #SEOPress
@intentionwebdesign - I left #YoastSeo for similar reasons and more. I chose #SmartCrawl for my own #Wordpress website two years ago. SEO is so foundational for the web that I believe it shouldn’t be held captured behind paywalls and “Premium” features.
@MindCreatesMeaning Is that part of the WPMU DEV package? I know freemium plugins exist to make us upgrade to the paid versions, but Yoast take nagging to extremes
@intentionwebdesign - I sourced SmartCrawl as a standalone plugin from the #Wordpress repository. It appears to be authored by WPMU Dev; so it may be part of the package you mention. I’m not using it as part of a package, personally. https://wordpress.org/plugins/smartcrawl-seo/ is the repository link if you’d like more information

@MindCreatesMeaning Great, thanks. Can try that one out then if it's not part of a subscription :)
@intentionwebdesign I’ve found the functionality to be robust, transparent, and includes many features that other SEO plugins charge money for. #SmartCrawl does have a paid tier - but they aren’t obnoxious about it AND they don’t use the paid option to hold meaningful features at ransom. (This is one man’s experience - my experience 👍)
