wholesome yet dystopian πŸ˜…
@nixCraft HP is the Twitter/Facebook of printer manufacturers. I will never buy another one of them.πŸ—‘οΈ
@Thorium
@nixCraft That's what Elon said πŸ˜ƒ
@Thorium @nixCraft When my current HP dies, it will end the long line of their printers I've owned since the late 80s. "HP Smart" is an ideal example of the term "enshittification"
@nixCraft Yes I finally abandoned HP and switch to Brother. The final straw was that annoyingly STUPID app named HP Smart.
@qs5779 @nixCraft The app is so terrible. I swear, they're developed by people who don't actually USE the products.
@nixCraft I had the same issue receiving Squeeze Box digital music servers, and the same when giving them away years later: locked to the a vendor's account. No factory reset could disassociate itπŸ™

@nixCraft Ye, no.
It's Ecotank Epson for me, with only local connections, or I'll find a way to have a Pi running a Telegram bot so to receive documents and print them on the local printer.

I'll have to try Brother sooner or later, as the bigass carts always intrigued me.

@nixCraft That someone would willingly use an HP printer is the dystopia here, even if it is free.
@nixCraft Seems untrue, who in their right mind would leave a printer and the go back again. I would have avoided it like its radioactive.
@nixCraft oh no activation lock has invaded fucking printers?????
