Maybe, and hear me out, if you need to steal the work of others for your #GenerativeAI to exist, then your generative AI should not exist.

The #ACM #CodeOfEthics reads:

"""Computing professionals should therefore credit the creators of ideas, inventions, work, and artifacts, and respect copyrights, patents, trade secrets, license agreements, and other methods of protecting authors' works"""

I don't see how this is confusing for companies like #OpenAI, but here we are.

@hrefna but all that VC money, how to get to it /s
@hrefna
There are two caveats. I am semi-retired, and haven't tried this put myself, but if AI can puke out performance reports and/or resumes and job application letters, well, there's a silver lining to every cloud.
@MHowell @hrefna It can puke out ones that materially lie about what they're reporting...
@hrefna if I steal all the parts to a car individually and assemble them then “my” car is still stolen lol. I don’t know why these people have such a hard time understanding
Generative AI should not exist, you are 100% correct. It's plagiarism of the most lazy sort, using the computer to do the work of stealing other people's effort for them.
