looking for a vine #plant that is not too demanding and doesn’t need much light, any recommendations? #plants #gardening

@milkteawitch pothos!
It grows like a weed, thrives in light, but grows steady in dim rooms, is easy to propagate, and comes in a multitude of color patterns

The only down side: if you have nibbly cats, it can be poisonous if they eat enough of it - but many plants have this problem

@Sommerjam thank you! luckily my cat is very uninterested in plants and not a climber at all.
it will also be in a room where she is never alone

@milkteawitch give it a go! I'd send you some cuttings but a) I'm a stranger from the internet! but also b) I don't have any rooted right now.

But... I cannot say this is strictly legal...
But if you find one just snip off a length of vine at the end with a couple of leaves on it (#proplifting)
Then shove that in water and it'll grow roots from the nodes at the bottom of the leaves

Here's what it looks like to root them in water:

@milkteawitch Pothos, Tradescantia (Wandering Jew), and common spider plant all come to mind as easy to grow. They all propagate from cuttings well in water, too, so you'd always have backups! Boston fern is good for fairly low light, but does need more frequent watering than those other three.
@milkteawitch I say Pothos as well. :D
Otherwise I can think of Scindapsus pictus. It is one of my favorite plants. And Hoyas!
@erbse they are all beautiful! maybe i’ll start with a Pothos because everyone seem to suggest it and see if i’ll get more after that :) thank you! 🖤

@milkteawitch another vote for pothos. Just keep it out of reach of dogs and cats they will get sick!

If you can hang a pot from the ceiling and then have anything to twine it across within a year or two, you can string it along the wall indoors
