Phone calls should require subject lines like emails.
@Moosader You should get an iPhone then. This new voicemail live preview allows you to do that.
@sigmasternchen I can listen to voicemails from my call list, I just don't like answering calls from unknown numbers cuz it's almost always spam. But sometimes I have to look out for people using me as a job reference so I have to answer things T-T
@Moosader Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: [no subject given]
@Moosader joking aside, on Pixel phones Google Assistant can answer the phone and ask what the call is about, while displaying a live transcript, it's pretty cool
@noiob @Moosader doesn't that invade the caller's privacy by recording their voice and forwarding it to a Google service? It's not available in my country yet, but not sure if I would use it.
@simonparzer @Moosader it runs fully locally on the phone
@Moosader surely that’s what preparatory texts are for?
@strathearnrose @Moosader came here to say exactly this
@colo_lee @strathearnrose Most businesses don't do "prep texts", such as if Im a reference for someone's job application, or if a car dealership is trying to bug me.
@Moosader @max This was the exact conclusion we reached after a long dinner debate about trust in the voice calling industry on Weds last week!

@Moosader So that people will have the opportunity to fail coming up with good subject lines for phone calls as well? 🤔

You're cruel. 😜

@Moosader so much better than the phone number! wise up, caller ID! it's time for Subject ID!

@Moosader

Just be grateful they don't require party lines anymore. 😉

@Moosader We actually did have those. They were called “collect calls”.
@JensHannemann oh yeah lol. I never made a collect call but I remember seeing them on TV shows when I was a kid. x)
