RE: The latest Ryan Storm (@ry_storm) Controversy (kid just can’t keep out of trouble)

Ryan’s mom posted a video of Ryan singing along at a show at the top of his lungs. Someone posted below. Controversy ensued.

It’s not a Taylor Swift show. As much as I love Ryan, if he was next to me doing this and it’s not an audience singalong part, I politely ask him to sing under the band instead of over them.

Part of the communal enjoyment of live music is being respectful of those around you. 🤷‍♂️

@chopaganda @ry_storm In general very opposed to singalongs, but I also know YR would only do this if he really felt it and would STFU if someone asked him to.

(I say this without seeing the video, so if his singing sucks then all bets are off)

@chopaganda I don't feel right dunking on a particular guy I don't know but I totally agree, the norm at jam band concerts is that you don't sing along at the top of your lungs. (But singing along is not worse than talking, which is what the original Tweet claimed)

@chopaganda @ry_storm FWIW I sang along (after several Yuengling tallboys) to Arcadia on 7/3 during the fireworks bonanza and Melissa shushed me. Maybe I brought my volume down a tad, but I didn't stop.

I say sing your heart out as long as you're not yelling into someone's ear.

Meanwhile, the girls behind us chomping through the whole Creatures jam needed to die in a fire

@nkLottery @chopaganda @ry_storm fortunately I have a loving gf who will reign me in when I'm singing too loud and possibly bothering others.

But people fucking yapping during a jam are 100x worse than someone passionately singing along. This shouldn't even be a question IMO.
